Support and counseling

At the Nation, we have different support and councelling functions. As a member you are can use them whenever you feel that you need it. We always strive to make sure that everyone feels welcome and safe here at the Nation. Among these functions, we have an elected Chaplain that you can talk to for support. The chaplain is a priest in the Swedish church, but you don’t have to be a member of the church, or even religious, to talk to the chaplain. Anything you talk about with the Chaplain will be treated with confidentiality.

The nation environment shall be free from all forms of discrimination and imprinted by an active approach against attitudes that create or maintain inequality among members, staff, office holders and visitors.

The Nation has an elected representative for equality work. This person is tasked with making sure that any inadequacies at the Nation regarding equality are noticed and attended to. The ombud for equality is also the person to contact in case you notice indadequacies when being at the Nation.

Finally, we also have the Inspector. The role of the Inspector is to make sure that the Nation follows the statutes as well as being a link between the Nation and the university. This includes supporting the Nation’s activities and promote our interests. Our current Inspector is Björn Victor, who is a professor in Computing science. He was elected in 2019 and can be reached through [email protected].

The First curator is together with our Ombud for equality, repsonsible for the work with equality issues. Would you also like to be part of the work with safety and equality matters at the Nation? Contact the First curator through [email protected]!

If you want to get in touch with someone outside of the Nation, Kuratorskonventet also have an ombud for equality, whom you can contact through this email: [email protected].
