Christmas at Uplands

Christmas at Uplands (Jul på Uplands) is a Christmas celebration event which has taken place at the nation since 1969. The event started as an alternative for students who could not travel home over the holidays. The celebrations have changed since the start and is now open for everyone.

The event is free of charge, open for everyone, completely free of drugs and alcohol, and is financed through donations. The food mostly comes from restaurants in the Uppsala area.

The event usually has 1 500–2 000 visitors each year.

When is the event?

The event takes place at the nation house during Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 12:00–22:00 both days.

Would you like to help during our next event?

The preparations for Jul på Uplands usually start already during the autumn. If you are interested in volunteering or being a Christmas host, then send an email to [email protected].

The Christmas hosts lead the work, which includes everything from contacting companies, managing activities during the event, making schedules for the volunteers, etc. There are usually 150-200 volunteers engaged in the event each year.

The Facebook group Jul på Uplands volunteers is used as a discussion forum and is free for everyone to join.

The registration for this year’s Christmas at Uplands opens in October!
